Question Wednesday: Favorites

Every week I answer a question from a reader or writer here on my blog. You can add a question to the queue by putting it in the comments on any blog.

This week’s question is from Andrea Jee:

Which of your books is your favorite? And who is your favorite author?

medintrotopleasureOh gosh, it’s so hard as an author to pick a favorite book amongst my own work. They all mean so much to me for so many reasons. For example, An Introduction to Pleasure was a book I’d wanted to write for so long, but it was also the book that reignited both my career and my desire to pursue it.  So it holds a special place for me.

But I’m also greatly attached to Taken by the Duke, since I loved that trope of the kidnap and the Romeo and Juliet houses divided storyline!

But normally the book I’m most in love with is the book I’m currently writing. In this case, it’s A Measure of Deceit. This is the third book in The Ladies Book of Pleasures series and I can’t tell you much about it without giving away too much about a series you haven’t even seen yet.  But trust me, I love it and I think it’s going to be so fun for all of you. In fact, just for being so pretty and so nice, I will show you the cover for the first book, A Matter of Sin, which comes out July 8:

Pretty, eh?

Now as for which authors I love, I cut my romance teeth on Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas, but I’ve developed a real taste for Colette Gale, Kate Pearce and Lila DiPasqua. I also love mainstream writers like Rosamund Lupton and Gillian Flynn. Really anything that is compulsively readable. Hopefully you find me the same.
