As a writer, I have a shelf full of really cool research books. Some of them are about the time periods and subjects I wrote about, others are about the writing industry and publishing.

But one of my favorite books on writing is Stephen King’s book of the same name, On Writing. It’s a book of really two parts. The first is a memoir of his life and career.
