The past few weeks have been wonderful and odd for me. Not only did my husband and I go on our cruise, but when we came back my first book in my Mistress Matchmaker Series, An Introduction to Pleasure, went free for two weeks on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Sony and Apple (I don’t know why not Kobo).

If you didn’t know about the promo, I have no idea how! LOL I sent out a newsletter, tweeted multiple times a day and Facebooked regularly about it.… [Read more...]

The post What a Strange and Wonderful Thing is Life appeared first on Jess Michaels.

Okay, that may take it too far. I’ve never hurt another human being, but the thing I kill over and over again is plants. Oh, and techonology.

We’ll start with the plants. Gardening is a pleasure to a lot of people, not so much to me. Some of them are about the time periods and subjects I wrote about, others are about the writing industry and publishing.

But one of my favorite books on writing is Stephen King’s book of the same name, On Writing. It’s a book of really two parts. The first is a memoir of his life and career. It’s my favorite part of the book because well, his life is fascinating in the way he wrote, pursued a career, handled rejection and ultimately became a rock star in the publishing world.… [Read more...]

The post Cool Writing Books: On Writing appeared first on Jess Michaels.
